Dice Make Bonk 12: The Man They Call Duke
I’m pulling this round in right under the wire, but dang it, I just couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t give this one the time and attention it deserves. I’m talking about a culmination of synchronous forces and historic events that combine in a gripping tale of the enigmatic NPC who, for three years, drove the lives of our characters with an open yet hidden hand.
Maybe you’ve heard of him. He’s the man that PCs know only as: The Duke.
The Duke is ambitious. The Duke is generous. The Duke has expectations. And I can say with humility and respect that until Tripp and I recorded this round, I only *thought* that I had the Duke figured out.
It’s an extra-long, two-pronged ‘cast on the machenations of this leader of men: Ogg/Vorbis makes itself the head and defender of his powerful neighbours, while MP3 weakens the more powerful amongst them.
In other news, I have to warn you that the scrappy scalawag Kenneth Newquist has upped the ante yet again on our battle for directing Internet traffic: he’s gone and written up Dice Make Bonk in issue 109 of the venerated Knights of the Dinner Table magazine. Rest assured that I’m warning up my gigantic moon-defiling laser as you read. Until I carve the Nuketown URL out of Luna’s surface, however, you’ll just have to settle for clicking this link if you want to partake of some of the best science-fiction, roleplaying, and gaming commentary around.
Also, a minor error in the MP3 version of DMB Round 11 was discovered: it had no ID3 tags. Now it does. You’re welcome!
