More Friendly Faces for the Cause
Lots of knocks at the door this week, from people wanting in. I’m humbled and excited and a little scared, but mostly I’m amazed and grateful.
It’s my pleasure to announce that hepcat-around-town, Darryl DeLoach, has come on as the Assistant Director for In The Wind. Two hours on the job and he’d found me two locations already. The guy is a rocket ship blasting off for adventures … in SPACE!
Christal Segura will ply her hand to Darryl’s cause as needs be — she’s returning to the show after a solid performance as a Camera Operator in May during auditions. She quiet and unassuming, steady, and all around dependable. Sounds like AD material to me! Plus, she makes a great noir detective.
The formidable Jean Harrison has committed her tenacious talents to the Production Designer post. We had a faboo meeting on Saturday, which I had totally forgotten by last night when I asked her if she’d met Sabina yet. Turns out she had, right there in front of me, during the meeting … after which we all went to dinner and a play.
Jean is keeping track of details like that for me, in addition to pulling together props and scenery. I can’t tell you what a difference that makes. I have no doubts at all that In The Wind will be something to look at.
(Something, like, something amazing … not just something your eyes happen to take in ‘cuz they’re pointed in that direction.)
Edit an hour later: I just noticed that I’d already posted up that Jean has joined us. Just proves my point, I’m sure. Hey, she’s doing a bang-up job anyway.
Hunter Gough has signed on as Jean’s minion — you may know Hunter from his many intriguing, genre-busting games like “In The Pit” and the critically acclaimed “Gother Than Thou.” He’ll be running around like a crazed monkey doing Jean’s bidding.
So the ranks are swelling! Good thing too — we’re less than three weeks away from our first shooting day. Anybody want to help out? Email me: cameron@noirchickenstudios.com and let me know what you’re down for.
